Sophie Crushes HFC Mile Club Record

2025-01-22 - Congratulations to Sophie at the GBTC Invitational for crushing the HFC 1 mile indoor track record of 5:13.57 held by Meaghan Scaerbo since 2003! From Harvey - Snubbed from the invitational heat, Sophie’s only competition was herself as she lapped many runners on her way to a massive PR of 5:03.94. Sophie won the heat by over 25 seconds! A very even split race as well. Tremendous effort by Sophie kicking off 2025 with a pending club record in the indoor mile.(BTW Sophie would have been in contention for the win in the invitational heat - her time would have placed her third, but the winning time was only 4:58 so good chance she would have been in the mix. ** UPDATE - Sophie broke the record again at the Harvard Invitational with a 5:02.34! Congratulations.
